Was going over my stack of "currently reading" books on my nightstand. (most of them, I've only gotten as far as the prologue.) And was running the ever-running question over my head. "How am I ever suppose to read all of these books." Then a grand thought dashed into my mind.

(this is not my nightstand, but it's pretty darn close to what the stack looks like)

We should have government-run health care, then we'd have all the time in the world, since we'll all be standing in-line to get care. Think about it. ;-)

18 Random Things

One of my best friends, Abbie, turned 18 last Friday, and today she had a surprise party at her house. So I thought I'd be fun to write "18 Random Things" about Abbie.
Here we go!

She absolutely loves LOTR's. (but she'd never admit it)
She's always got her nose in a book.
She won't make fun/tease you.
She helps anyone to laugh at their mistakes.
She loves to seek the approval of her parents.
She really loves dogs.
She really, really loves cats.
She really, really, really, loves horses
She's always ready to help someone with anything.
She's always helping her mom to keep her 5 younger siblings in line. ;-)
She'll laugh at any joke. (even a stupid one. ;-))
She's very conservative about spending her money.

She has a, "Let's get it done now" attitude.
She's an excellent writer.

Guess What!!

I got to meet a very special family today. Wanna guess who? I'll give you a hint. They have 18(soon to be 19) kids. Yes, that's right. I meet the Duggar family! It was wonderful! They came to speak at a church near our town. We made sure to take our camera, and our book for them to sign. 16 out of 18 came with Jim Bob and Michelle. It was great to actually "see" them in person, in stead of watching them on T.V.
(sorry about the poor quality. lighting was terrible, and camera was shaky)

Here they are! (it took me forever 5 seconds of adjusting to get them all to fit in the frame.)

They sang a hymn, but I don't remember which one. Sorry! =D

All the children play the piano and violin. Here they are performing "Onward Christian Soldiers".

And then Michelle told us that they had memorized Exodus 20:1-17 by putting hand motions to the words. By the looks of their hands, their on number commandment number 7.

After that Jim Bob and Michelle spoke. They talked about how they meet, yearly marriage life, their commitment to living debt free, how they got a show on TLC, and how they came to have 18 children!

All in all, it was a great experience! I don't know when I'll see them again, but I do know that this is one thing that I won't be forgetting anytime soon.

Before you read on, there is something I must tell you. I am a Mac-Addict. Yes, it's true. I absolutely love my mac! To all of you out there who do not own one, there is only one thing you deserve to hear from me. SHAME ON YOU!!

Okay, now on to business.

I came across this image on Google and couldn't help but laugh at it. Then I decided to do some "research" on it.

My absolute favorite show on tv has got to be 18 Kids and Counting!! I've been watching it since it debuted in September of '08. Since I'm sure most of you know about them, so I'll spare you the details.

As I was skimming through my blogs I came across some exciting news. Wanna guess? Yep. She's pregnant again! You can go here for the press release. And then here to read Michelle's blog. What I found funny was that in May 2008 the family, yes all of them, went to NYC. They were on the TODAY show to announce that they were excpecting #18. And then almost exactly one year later she got pregnant with #19! Pretty neat huh!

Oh, and by the way. Their oldest son got married last year and are excpecting their first in Oct. 18.

Well, here I am starting my own blog! I can't believe it! I've been following several for about a year and a half now, and have loved every minute of it. I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I've enjoyed those on my blogroll. Please just bear with me for the first few weeks as I get started. It'll probably take me that long be to get this place rolling :-) I have absolutely no clue what I'll be blogging about next. It literally could anything ranging from theology, to clothes, to movies!
